Avid Venue 8.0.1 Available
Avid has released the VENUE 8.0.1 update. This update is bringing several important enhancements and bug fixes that improve performance and user experience. Here’s a quick overview of what’s been resolved in this release:
-
Sidechain & Pick-Off Stability: fixed an issue where sidechain inputs and certain pick-offs (Top of Channel, True Gain) could stop functioning after toggling between Virtual Soundcheck (VSC) and Stage Inputs.
-
Solo In Place (SIP) Audio Flow: SIP mode now reliably routes audio to the Mains bus. Previously, audio might not pass unless a mute or fader was adjusted on the solo’d channel.
-
Direct Out Behavior: Muted Direct Outs will now behave as expected. In prior versions, some audio could unintentionally pass unless pick-off points were manually toggled.
-
Event Triggers with Channel Color Buttons: Smart-duplicated events tied to channel color buttons now trigger reliably without needing manual parameter resets or console restarts.
-
Pro Tools Patch Alerts: corrected false alerts related to Pro Tools AVB patching during show file loads. File conversions now reflect the correct AVB patch index.
-
Engine Fan Alerts: Resolved false low-speed alerts for Engine fan 3 (FAN3A/FAN3B). Status displays now more accurately reflect real-time fan operation, reducing unnecessary concern.
Avid encourages all users to upgrade to VENUE 8.0.1 to take full advantage of these improvements.
