The new Media Composer 2024.12 brings many new features, including:

– Media Composer will now run natively on Apple Silicon, bringing improved performance for playback, processing, and overall user experience.

– Audio waveforms can now be displayed in the Source monitor for clips that contain audio which allows users to make better editing decisions, using a visual representation of a clip’s amplitude over time, before adding clips to a sequence.

Why is it called 2024.12 if it was released February 2025? Good question but we don’t really know… Here’s a nice rundown video of the new features.
