The long rumored 8-core Mac Pro saw daylight yesterday. Sold as a BTO (Build To Order) variation of the current Mac Pro line, the 8-core beast houses two pieces of a new unannounced version of Intel Xeon 4-core processor at 3GHz. The new speed tops the officially fastest 2.66GHz 4-core Xeon chips available to other computer manufacturers at the moment.
