Neumann
Neumann. What can we say. Nothing new, really. Still the standard against which all other microphones are compared to. Come and have a listen in our showroom. Below some highlights, ask for more info.

U 87 Ai
The U 87 Ai is probably the best known and most widely used Neumann studio microphone. It is equipped with a large dual-diaphragm capsule with three directional patterns: omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-8. A 10 dB attenuation switch is located on the rear enabling the microphone to handle sound pressure levels up to 127 dB without distortion.
U 87 Ai is a good choice for most general purpose applications in studios, for broadcasting, film and television. It is used as a main microphone for orchestra recordings, as a spot mic for single instruments, and extensively as a vocal microphone for all types of music and speech. If you call your studio professional you probably need at least one in your collection or chances are that you will not be taken seriously.

M 149
The M 149 Tube is a variable dual-diaphragm microphone. The K 49 capsule, well-known from the legendary U 47 and M 49 microphones, is followed by a tube functioning as an impedance converter. In contrast to earlier concepts utilizing a transformer the tube is complemented with a transformerless output circuit design. The M 149 Tube can thus feed long microphone cables without any coloration.
Two slide switches are located below the large, acoustically very open headgrille. The switch at the front allows selection one of nine directional patterns. The slide switch at the rear operates a seven-step high pass filter allowing a very fine adjustment of the cut-off frequency.
This microphone is an ideal choice for a wide range of recording situations. It is a superb vocalist microphone, not only because of the capsule, but also due to its modern circuitry, characterized by extremely low noise level.

TLM 103
The TLM 103 is the ideal large diaphragm microphone for all professional and semi-professional applications requiring the utmost in sound quality on a limited budget.
The TLM 103 features a low self-noise and the highest sound pressure level transmission. The capsule, derived from that used in the U 87, has a cardioid pattern, is acoustically well-balanced and provides extraordinary attenuation of signals from the rear.
The TLM 103 is available in satin nickel and matte black and it is predestined for all demanding applications from home recording to professional broadcasting and commercial recording studios.
Note: as with the KM 180 series also the TLM 103 is available in a digital version, the TLM 103 D. Through the use of the DMI-2 digital microphone interface, the digital signal coming from the microphone can be easily synched to the other digital devices in your setup.

KM 184 & 180 series
The "Series 180" consists of three compact miniature microphones with patterns that satisfy the demands of all common studio applications.
The KM 183 omnidirectional and KM 185 hypercardioid microphones are based on the successful KM 184 cardioid microphone, which has become a standard within the global studio community in a very short time. All "Series 180" microphones are available with either matte black or nickel finish.
The "Series 180" are suitable for a very wide range of tasks. The silky highs are ideal for almost any situation where you need a small diaphragm condenser mic.
Note: Neumann offers also a KM D series. They are they digital version of the KM 180 series designed to be used with AES/EBU, AES 42 or S/PDIF. The signal is converted directly at the capsule. Two digital microphones can be connected to the DMI-2 digital microphone interface, which is used to synchronize the digital signals via a wordclock input & output.

BCM 705
The BCM705 is the first Neumann microphone with a dynamic capsule. Functionally optimized design specifically for the broadcast field, featuring integrated pop protection, suppression of structure-borne noise and a hypercardioid directional characteristic.
A pop screen not only prevents the occurrence of plosive pop noises in vocal use, but also efficiently prevents unwanted particles, from respiratory moisture, nicotine, to food remnants, from settling on the diaphragm. The pop screen can be removed for cleaning without tools.
