Custom Storage The benefit for you is safety of data with better warranty coverage. If you buy a cheap office-grade external hard disk and something goes wrong, you have to send back the whole drive because the enclosure is sealed and if you open it, you void the warranty. In most cases though the problem is not the hard disk but the enclosure which usually has a blown chip or two. So you have to choose between sending in the whole drive and losing all your data because big companies usually just throw away the defect drive and give you a new one. Or take your chances and put the drive in a new enclosure to see if it works which leaves you without warranty coverage plus you have to buy a new enclosure just to test the drive. If you however buy a custom solution from us, both enclosure and drive have separate warranties so you have maximum data safety and hardware flexibility.
