SoundCode Exchange MXF

SoundCode Exchange MXF
SoundCode Exchange MXF is a set of tools that provides MXF file workflows for Pro Tools and Quicktime Player. It allows high-definition and standard-definition MXF video playback in a Pro Tools video track and in Quicktime Player together with simple audio import from MXF OP1a files. Additionally it provides a handy audio layback to MXF OP1a files. A reduced low-cost import-only version is also available: SoundCode Exchange MXF Import.

SoundCode Exchange MXF makes import in Pro Tools as simple as importing a Quicktime movie. It includes a simple utility application called MXFToProTools which allows to create a tiny Quicktime reference movie form the MXF file. This movie can then be imported in Pro Tools and within seconds the video track will be playing your HD or SD MXF video. It is also possible to copy and import the audio from the MXF file into the Pro Tools session. SoundCode Exchange MXF supports a wide variety of MXF formats and video codecs allowing for compatibility with MXF files commonly used in television broadcast.

SoundCode Exchange MXF Workflow
After you have finished editing the audio in Pro Tools, SoundCode Exchange MXF lets you lay back the finished audio to an existing MXF OP1a file. Export is as simple as highlighting the audio in the Pro Tools timeline, opening the SoundCode Exchange MXF Export plug-in from the Audiosuite menu and select the existing OP1a file and clicking Export.

Faster-than-realtime, the plug-in duplicates the OP1a file and replaces the audio with the audio in the Pro Tools timeline. In this process the OP1a file is copied and not authored from scratch giving full confidence that it will be compatible with the originating MXF playback systems.

SoundCode For Broadcast

SoundCode For Broadcast
Dolby MetaData Encoder/Decoder

SoundCode For Broadcast embeds Dolby metadata such as loudness and downmix information into the audio file together with one or more mix stems. This way you can prepare audio to send to the Dolby DP600 for processing such as Dolby E encoding.

The BWF Player Pro Tools Plug-In is used for Import, QC Testing, and Dolby E laybacks and operates in two ways. First, the Audiosuite version lets you import the audio directly to the timeline and will use the time code information to spot it sample-accurate. Second, the RTAS plug-in can be used to play the BWF file into the Pro Tools mixer in realtime for easy quality control testing.

Additionally SoundCode For Broadcast eliminates the 2 GB file limitation of Pro Tools by reading and writing files larger than 4 GB using the RIFF64 chunk standard and interleaves audio using the SMPTE standard instead of Pro Tools film format thus extending Pro Tools compatibility with almost any audio system.

SoundCode For Broadcast is designed to work seamlessly with the Dolby DP600 for faster-than-realtime, file-based processing. Just use the BWF Export tool to create a file and send it off to the DP600 for processing.

SoundCode for DTS

SoundCode for DTS
DTS Encoder/Decoder

Tightly integrated with Avid Pro Tools software, the Neyrinck SoundCode for DTS plug-in suite provides mastering-quality workfl ow tools that enable you to encode and decode DTS Digital Surround 5.1, 5.1 ES, 6.1 ES Discrete, and 96/24 audio directly within Pro Tools software.

Whether you are delivering surround audio for DVD-Video or DVD-Audio, SoundCode provides a range of powerful features to help you accomplish your goals, all within the industry-standard Pro Tools environment.

Faster-Than-Real-Time Encoding
The SoundCode Encoder offers a fast way to encode audio as DTS or WAV files within a Pro Tools session, ready for use with DVD audio or video authoring applications or any other application that uses the DTS standard. Because the SoundCode Encoder operates as an AudioSuiteTM plug-in, you can encode DTS audio faster than real time to accelerate your workflow.

6.1 ES Discrete and 96/24
SoundCode for DTS provides the ability encode 6.1 discrete channels of audio at a 48 kHz sample rate so now you take advantage of the rear center channel for better localization and spatialization of your surround mix. SoundCode for DTS also allows you to encode a 96 kHz / 24-bit mix for up to 5.1 channels when the highest audio quality is necessary. 6.1 ES Discrete mode and 96/24 mode are backwards compatible with all legacy DTS consumer systems so you can deliver outstanding surround mixes to all consumers with a single stream.

Punch In/Out Capabilities
The SoundCode Encoder includes a timesaving Punch In/Out feature that allows you to punch in fixes to an existing DTS file or encode and append audio to an existing DTS fi le. If you’ve already encoded the audio for a two-hour program but need to replace a single line of dialog, SoundCode lets you encode just that line, without having to re-encode the entire two-hour soundtrack. SoundCode automatically “punches in” that line to the correct location within the previously encoded file.
