URS 1970 & 1980 Classic Console Compressor Limiters
Compressor
The URS 1970 Classic Console Compressors digitally recreates a popular 1970's British Console Buss Comprerssor Limiter with transformer input and diode bridge gain reduction amplifier characterics. The URS 1980 Classic Console Compressor features digital recreation of the IC input and voltage controlled gain reduction amplifier (VCA) characteristics.
Features
- Hi Resolution 48-bit TDM and 64-bit RTAS "Double Precision" processing for increased clarity, headroom and unparalleled gain reduction. Hi Resolution "Double Precision" processing helps to avoid internal clipping in the Digital Domain.
- The Compressor and Limiter sections are totally independent of each other. Both feature separate variable Attack, Release and Threshold controls.
- The Internal Side Chain High and Low Pass Filters fine tune how narrow or "Broad Band" the URS Classic Console Compressor will affect the program material. Both Filters completely overlap to dial in problem frequencies.
- The Listen Key is after the Filters section. The Listen Key allows you to monitor the signal being sent to the Gain Reduction detection circuit.
Signal Flow explained
The URS Classic Console Compressors signal flow inserts the Gain Makeup control before the final Limiter. This is the secret to how hard you can hit the final "Brick Wall" Limiter. The URS Classic Console Compressors utilize Feed-back gain sensing. Feed-back gain sensing gives Compression and Limiting a servo type of control. See the detailed signal flow diagram below.
Two different URS Classic Console Compressor plug-ins are included in the two bundles.
Both 1970 & 1980 versions includes :
• Compressor/ Limiter / Side Chain version
• Compressor only version
The Compressor /Limiter / Side chain version has a "Brick Wall Limiter to smooth out the most difficult musical tracks and is well suited for Drum Sub Groups, Aux sends (TDM versions) and especially on the Mix Bus.
The Compressor only version is 3x more DSP efficient and is very well suited on general instruments, such as vocals, guitars, bass and individual drums. It will act as a Limiter when the ratio is set at 10:1 and above.

The URS A series is a Class AB classic in every sense of the word. Each band offers 7 switchable filter frequencies spanning 4 to 5 octaves. The URS A series is unlike any other equalizer you will ever use.
Many EQ’s today offer a huge assortment of complex features, but the URS A series provides the engineer with just what is needed. The four bands overlap for track sweetening or specific problem solving. The low and high bands are selectable peak or shelving.

Designed for Avid's ICON console, the URS A-MIX EQ aligns perfectly with D-Control's master section EQ plug-in control panel. Digitally recreates the sound of of Neve's 1084 vintage Five Band Equalizer (3 bands plus HP/LP Filters).
The URS Classic Console Equalizers use Hi Resolution 48 bit "Double Precision" processing for increased clarity and headroom. Hi Resolution 48 bit "Double Precision" processing helps to avoid internal clipping in the Digital Domain.
The URS N series equalizer is very broad banded and musical. It is a must have tool for recording and sweetening drums and bass.
It has a hi-pass filter with four frequencies- 45Hz, 70Hz, 160Hz and 360Hz. It has a lo-pass filter with five frequencies- 6kHz, 8kHz, 10kHz, 14kHz and 18kHz. The low end of this equalizer is so tight that you can boost 220Hz and not muddy up the sound. The mid band has six frequencies- 350Hz, 700Hz, 1.6kHz, 3.2kHz, 4.8kHz and 7.2kHz. The "Hi-Q" button on the mid band selects a narrower bandwidth. The high band is shelving and is selectable with three frequencies- 10kHz, 12kHz and 16kHz. It is smooth and silky and a little goes a long way.

URS BLT Program EQ

The URS BLT is a two band Program Equalizer. We've selected our favorite FullTec bass and treble curves for quick track or mix sweetening. You could say the BLT is the FullTec's 'Lil Brother. Just add a little BLT for taste.
URS BLT EQ features:
- One band of bass shevling fixed at 100hz with boost and attenuation.
- A level control with boost and attenuation to adjust the right amount loudness.
- One band of treble shelving fixed at 5kz with boost and attenuation.
BLT User Tips
Use the URS BLT as a front end for your Reverb plug-ins. You will notice the difference with a little bass boost and treble boost.
Use the URS BLT as a Digirack "Trim" plug-in replacement. The BLT uses about the same DSP and offers a phase control and quick analog sweetening.

The URS FullTec EQ features:
One band that digitally recreates the Pulteq EQP-1's low frequency shelving with simultaneous boost and attenuation.
Three bands of peak equalization that digitally recreates the midrange boost and attenuation of the Pultec MEQ-5 and the high frequency boost of the Pultec EQP-1a.
Each peak EQ band has it's own bandwidth Q control.
The fifth band features high frequency shelving with simultaneous boost and attenuation .
The URS FullTec EQ produces lush bottom end with smooth midrange and top end.
The five bands overlap for a wide range of subtle and powerful changes. We feel the FullTec is the greatest Mix Buss Equalizer we have ever made and it is also killer on individual mono tracks.
