Free Plug Tools
Plug Tools is a small, free application that helps you to keep your plug-ins up to date. It scans your plug-ins folder and shows you all the plugs with version numbers in an easily modifiable list on the left side. On the right side it loads Digidesign’s plug-in compatibility grid which you can use as a reference to cross-check the current version and mark your plug-ins accordingly. No rocket science, just a super practical helper when upgrading.

They are also not required for Mac OS X 10.5 and earlier.

Our news page has been a bit quiet lately not only because we’ve been busy installing numerous client projects simultaneously but also because at every free minute, we've been building and soldering our showroom to integrate the latest gear and furniture. After earlier upgrade of the Macs, HD5 system, Video satellite, etc. we’ve been working on the monitoring, furniture and kitchen. Yes, after 15 years of savings in the coffee can, we went crazy and ordered a dishwasher. And since it didn’t look good in the old kitchen, we ordered a new kitchen.
The Control Room is now fitted with beautiful AKA Design Pro Command furniture in Graphite Grey & Crown Oak which goes great with the classic Herman Miller Aeron chairs. The AKA package includes a stylish sink-in console for the D-Command ES 24 with sliding keyboard tray plus two racks left and right of our 32-fader D-Control ES.
The patchbay has been completely re-soldered and normalled for fast and easy access for outboard units, now including the ear-caressing Grace Design gear. Monitoring has now five different loudspeaker systems on line including classic reference monitors like NS-10s and 1030s for trusted sound that every engineer knows. Even the vintage Auratone sound is back in the re-incarnation of active Avantones. On top of that you can enjoy the built-in 1038s and new Barefoot MM27s and of course our Genelec 5.1 system for surround. And if that is not enough, even more loudspeakers are in the house for quick swap.
The C|24 demo system in a sleek Argosy 70-series console is almost ready as well and the completely new kitchen is already installed so feel free to book a demo.

SEC Showroom Updated
We upgraded our showroom system to the latest and greatest for the maximum Pro Tools|HD experience. To study complete film mixes and huge high-end music sessions, we put in a Pro Tools|HD 5 Accel in a Digidesign EB7 PCIe-to-PCIe Expansion Chassis, connected to the latest 8-core Mac Pro Nehalem. Our 32-fader D-Control and 24-fader D-Command were updated as well to take advantage of the super cool new ICON features introduced in Pro Tools 8 software.
On the picture side, we installed the new Video Satellite LE on a separate Mac to free the Pro Tools|HD machine 100% for audio. The Video Satellite LE runs happily HD video at 1080p on our new Sony Bravia display in perfect sync with Pro Tools, including scrubbing when editing automation etc.

Barefoot MicroMain27 in SEC Showroom
Do yourself a favour, don’t buy speakers before listening to Barefoots first.
We first heard Barefoot MicroMain 27s in a decent acoustic environment when demoing them to a multi-million selling artist and producer. They literally dropped the jaw of everybody in the room. When starting a r’n’b tune with super deep bass, everyone simultaneously looked down at the studio’s dual 15” subs and asked “who turned the subs on”? Nobody did. It was just the Barefoots with built-in dual aluminum subs. With 38 Hz - 20 kHz (+/- 1.5 dB), -3 dB @ 33 Hz frequency response (in a nearfield!) and mindblowing power (they happily keep up with our wall-mounted Genelec 1038s), these active 3-way loudspeakers in a sealed enclosure sound like no speakers. They sound like the music is coming out of thin air, not from physical boxes.
Or like Butch Vig (U2, Nirvana, Garbage) says: “The MicroMain 27's sound amazing! I feel like I'm listening to the music, not the speakers, and I can hear everything from top to bottom with incredible detail. There are no surprises when the mixes leave my studio, and they translate extremely well to the real world."
